Richard M. Bergenstal, MD Senior Vice President and Executive Director, International Diabetes Center

Richard M. Bergenstal, M.D., executive director of the International Diabetes Center, is an endocrinologist at Park Nicollet Clinic in Minneapolis. He did his medical and endocrine training at the University of Chicago, and has served as a principal investigator in key research studies in type 1 and type 2 diabetes, particularly related to preventing the complications of diabetes. In 2007, he received the ADA's Outstanding Physician Clinician in Diabetes award, among the highest honors in diabetes, and is the 2009 President Elect of the ADA.
