Here is what the participants from Albuquerque had to say about this year's TCOYD Conference and Health Fair. It helped me see that I am part of a community. I loved the conference and found it extremely helpful. I enjoyed all of the speakers and all the different classes. Learned much more than anticipated. You provided a great mix of topics. The health fair had great info, nice people and good freebies! I went to your first conference in San Diego. Loved it then and love it now. Learned info about meds I didn't even know existed. Everyone was most informative and willing to share. I enjoyed all of the wonderful talks especially by the people who know because they have diabetes. I received info and empathy. I now realize that I am not so isolated. All of my questioned were answered. Learned more than I anticipated to learn. Not only from speakers but also by speaking with attendees who are living with diabetes. It was a great opportunity to ask questions I normally don't get a chance to ask. Useful information to achieve and maintain control, alternate strategies and support services. Very impressed with the presenters, wonderful examples, sense of humor, in the face of this insidious disease. At lunch I absolutely loved my conversations with my table companions. I learned so much information but being able to laugh with others really motivated me to do better. Learned so much in such a short period of time. Wish I learned this the day I was diagnosed. Honest, understandable lectures. It was an uplifting experience. Today I realized that I am not alone. Loved the people, talking, laughing and listening. Knowledge leads to action and power. All of the major players were here, so we could get info/data and make the best informed decisions for ourselves. I feel up to date, also the comradeship really made me feel supported and improved my mood. It was encouraging to know it could be controlled with effort. Last year was excellent, this year was even better. I feel so empowered in ways I never have been before. I am so inspired by others who have made god progress. I am grateful I had the chance to hear Urban's talk. The positive comments go on and on. Thank you all for making such a big difference in so many peoples lives. # # # |
