Support TCOYD
Taking Control of Your Diabetes invites you to partner with us financially as we continue to educate, empower, and energize people with diabetes to become their own advocates and play an active role in managing their condition.

TCOYD relies on the generosity of our financial partners in order to continue our mission of educating and motivating people with diabetes to live healthier and more productive lives.

With over 26 million Americans diagnosed with diabetes (11.6% of our population and growing), your support of TCOYD’s vision and mission are more important than ever and with your help we can reach out to those who want to take an active role in their health.

Thank you for making a contribution and becoming a partner with TCOYD! We value your commitment to our programs and thank you for your generosity. TCOYD promises to use your gifts wisely, prudently, and in the best interests of our participants.

'In honor of' and 'In memory of' Gifts
Gifts can be designated in memory of a friend or loved one, or for a special occasion, such as a birthday or an anniversary. Many people have found great satisfaction by making gifts in memory of a friend or loved one, or to honor someone who is fighting diabetes. Others have made important contributions as a way of recognizing those who are making a difference in the lives of patients with diabetes, such as a physician or an educator. We will send a card announcing your gift (without mention of the amount) to the honoree or family member you designate.

Matching Gifts
Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match any charitable contributions made by their employees. Find out if your company has a matching gift policy.

Stock & Mutual Funds
Charitable gifts of appreciated stock or mutual fund shares avoid capital gains taxes and are a smart way to make a cost-effective gift. Call 858-755-5683 for details on easily transferring shares.

Boats and other watercraft, vehicles, real estate

There can be tremendous tax advantages to donating your boat (vehicle, real estate, etc). TCOYD maintains a close relationship and is partnering with another 501(c)3 charitable organization, Challenged America, to help both organizations and our donors who would like to donate watercraft. Challenged America provides free sailing educational and rehabilitation programs to people with disabilities. If you are interested in donating your boat (vehicle, real estate, etc), give us a call at TCOYD for details.

Planned Giving
Planned Giving means exactly that: planning now for how to make a charitable gift using the assets in your estate in a way that will benefit us and you. Gifts made through your will and special gift arrangements in estate planning not only can help TCOYD, but can provide you with substantial tax benefits. Also, gifts made in this manner are an excellent way to leave your legacy of support for patient education, motivation, and self-advocacy.
