Featuring Acclaimed Fitness Trainer Kim Lyons and Racecar Driver Charlie Kimball

Fall is just around the corner, meaning that TCOYD will be on the road again! We are proud to announce our 119th consecutive conference for people living with diabetes on September 11th in Providence at the Rhode Island Convention Center. This is the first ever TCOYD conference that has been held in the area.

This TCOYD conference features leading specialists from various medical backgrounds and institutions including Steven Edelman, MD, internationally recognized leader in diabetes treatment and Founder and Director of TCOYD; Robert J. Smith, MD and Marc Laufgraben, MD, Hallett Center for Diabetes and Endocrinology; Margaret M. Webb, RN, CDOE, Care New England Wellness Center, Kent Hospital; Deborah S. Newell, RPh, CDOE, Diabetes Outpatient Education Program and other medical professionals from across the country who will work together to provide new programs and practical advice to those living with the disease as well as discuss the latest developments in treatments, the complications of the disease, psychological barriers to controlling diabetes, nutritional issues and much more.

Also, to kick off the season, conference participants will have the unique opportunity to experiment with different forms of exercise with celebrity fitness trainer from NBC’s The Biggest Loser, Kim Lyons, and the Take the Next Step Program.

In addition to the conference, the health fair will boast 40 informational exhibits from national and local diabetes-related companies and organizations and will be open throughout the day. A banquet-style lunch is included and will feature a presentation by veteran, entrepreneur and motivational speaker, Urban Miyares who is living well with diabetes.

During the closing session, racecar driver Charlie Kimball will speak about being the only licensed Indy car driver in history with the disease and how his diabetes doesn’t slow him down.

Pre-registration is recommended. Registration fee is $25 per person. Registration fee includes a banquet lunch, healthy snacks, and all conference activities.
