More than 50 years ago, the cities of Carlsbad, Oceanside and Vista joined together to create a hospital of their own. A lot's changed since then – new faces, new technology, and new ways to heal and to help. Yet after all these years, Tri-City Medical Center is still community owned and operated. We're still committed to saving and enhancing lives. And we're still here for you, whenever you need us. Larry Anderson, CEO, Tri-City Medical Center About Our Hospital Established in 1961, Tri-City Medical Center has 397 licensed beds, approximately 2,200 employees, 550 physicians and offers 60 specialties and sub-specialties. Tri-City is administered by Tri-City Healthcare District, a California Hospital District, and serves the North Coastal San Diego region including, but not limited to, the communities of Oceanside, Carlsbad, Vista and San Marcos. Tri-City Medical Center is a San Diego County Designated Heart Attack Receiving Center and a Joint Commission Designated Primary Stroke Center. As these designations indicate, Tri-City is dedicated to continuous, outstanding care for our community 24/7. In 2008 alone, Tri-City Medical Center's Emergency Department served approximately 70,000 individuals. Tri-City Medical Center belongs to the community we are privileged to serve, and we're always here for you.
