*Dana Palermo, RDN, CDE, CNSC
Dana Palermo is a registered dietitian, certified nutrition support clinician, and certified diabetes educator. She currently works at the VA San Diego as the Diabetes and Metabolic Research Dietitian. In addition to counseling patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes, she also coordinates the Diabetes Prevention Program and assists in facilitating diabetes group education classes. Dana has been living with type 1 diabetes for over 20 years and has firsthand experience on the day to day challenges of living healthy with diabetes. Dana obtained her Dietetics degree from San Diego State University. Prior to working at the VA, Dana worked at Rady Children’s Hospital in a variety of roles including diabetes education and metabolic diseases. Through group classes and TCOYD conferences, Dana shares her knowledge with others to help them better understand how to live healthy with diabetes.
Larry Verity is an associate dean of faculty and academic affairs in the College of Health and Human Services at SDSU. Larry is living well with type 1 diabetes and has expertise in exercise physiology, diabetology, nutritional biochemistry and nutrition dietetics.
