How to Get on the Honor Roll: Top 10 Tips for Type 1s
This lecture was from our virtual "Back to School" conference on 8/7/21.
This is one class you don’t want to fail at. Skipping class and cheating may seem cool, but when it comes to diabetes management, the quality of your life depends on your attendance. In this case it’s okay to be a nerd; your eyes, kidneys, heart, friends and family will all thank you for your diligence in learning all you can on this topic. Professor Pettus will be handing out A’s and hopefully lower A1c (if all class work is applied) to all who attend.

How to Eat 3 Donuts and Stay In Range
#diabetes #type1diabetes #timeinrange
Steve and Jeremy eat three donuts in a 15-minute time span to see if they can keep their blood sugars in range (between 70-180mg/dL). They each try a different technique…Steve uses ultra-rapid-acting insulin with a pre-bolus, and Jeremy uses inhaled insulin Afrezza. Please keep in mind we are not advocating that anyone eat three donuts at a time, but this experiment demonstrates that, with the right tools and education, you can eat your favorite foods in moderation while living with diabetes.
The video Jeremy references about Afrezza can be found here:
