It seems like everything is changing its name these days, and the diabetes space is no exception! Have you been keeping up? Dr. Edelman has lived with type 1 diabetes since 1970 – surely he knows them all, right? 😉 Watch as Dr. Pettus throws him some familiar names from the past, and see if Dr. Edelman can match them to their current identities. We even sneak in a few non-diabetes curveballs and look back at a very cute young Dr. E!

What is going on with Sana? Is a cure coming along ?Will we continue to be stuck with diabetes appliances since Big Pharma has no incentive to kill their cash cow and find a cure?
I haven’t heard much recently about Sana – I sure hope they’re successful!
This will be my 73 rd year as a type 1 diabetic. And no I truly believe that there is already a cure but big Pharma isn’t going to let it happen. We need a new Pancreas but you must need another organ like a kidney or Liver for Dr’s to do the surgery. So bad and sad
Good luck with your type 1. I do disagree with you – big pharma won’t have the cure – it’s more likely that it will come from small biotech companies working on immunomodulation. In any case, I’m not here to change your mind. Let’s both hope they come out with a cure.
Hi there! I was diagnosed with type 1.5 (LADA) complicated by stiff person syndrome and Dupuytrens contracture. I’m an autoimmune nightmare. As i understand it is due to my abnormally high GAD 65 antibody count. If there are any research studies or trials in so.cal area I’d be happy to volunteer. I’m very much looking forward to August when I get to participate in my first tycoyd seminar.
The best place to look for studies in this area is Breakthrough T1D, and you can also check out clinicaltrials.gov:

Come say hi to me at ONE – I’ve never met an autoimmune nightmare!
