Amy Wolk is a Registered Nurse and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist who works with children newly diagnosed with type 1 and type 2 diabetes in Long Beach, California. She helps them and their families learn the skills they need to manage and live a healthy life with diabetes. She also facilitates diabetes technology classes, collaborates with team members to create and implement policies that improve overall care for children with diabetes in the inpatient and outpatient settings. And she encourages her patients to live beyond diabetes and to share their stories. Beyond work, she challenges herself to stay active--hiking, biking, scuba diving, and dancing, and whatever else comes her way that makes her say, "Yes! Bring it on!"
